In the Indian tradition, there is a saying.
‘What the right gives, even the left hand must not know’.
It is said so to emphasise that, humbleness is necessary when it comes to service and one should not do it for the sake of fame.
Many of you may know that the Centre has been in search of a larger premises for a while now, to accommodate the growing audience at our classes and events.
Towards the end of 2018, Donna (a member of Hridhaya), came to me (Prabha) at the end of a session and said, “You know how you just mentioned about the wish to run philosophy classes under a tree. Well you can have our house!”
Since then it has been a few months of sorting and finalising and we can finally say, we are moving in to our new premises in August 2019! This would not have been possible if not for the generosity of Donna and her husband Trevor to offer their house to the Centre at an extremely nominal rent. Fortunately, Donna’s house happens to have council permit to run a business, as well.
On behalf of all those who call Hridhaya home and the Board of Directors, we would like say a huge thank you to Donna and Trevor for their kind offer.
We will be conducting an open inspection at the new premises on the 27th of July for our members to inspect and be part of the big move. Stay tuned for more details.
